The GFWC Nebraska Federation club members are volunteers representing the full spectrum of women today, women who are interested in self-improvement as well as community improvement. These volunteers are united in their community efforts across the state.

Purpose of GFWC Nebraska:

The purpose of the GFWC/NFWC is to unite in giving service to our communities and our state in the areas of educational, civic and community betterment. Our members give their time, talents, and resources to improve the quality of life through service to others. We strive to become responsible, dynamic leaders in our communities.

Why belong to the NFWC:

TO ENLIST group support for community projects and attaining meaningful goals.
TO DEVELOP leadership skills to translate into the workplace and other settings.
TO ENTER the network of international volunteers.
TO PROVIDE an active voice in legislative issues.

GFWC is one of the world’s largest and oldest women’s volunteer service organizations. Working locally through thousands of clubs in the United States and globally in more than 20 countries, GFWC members support the arts, preserve natural resources, promote education, encourage healthy lifestyles, stress civic involvement, and work toward world peace and understanding.
Clubs shape their local agendas to suit particular community needs. Each local chapter benefits from membership, service, material, and program support from state and national Federation levels.
GFWC headquarters in Washington, DC, a National Historic Landmark, houses the Women’s History and Resource Center, a collection of books, periodicals and records devoted to women’s history and women in volunteerism.
